Last Updated: July 24, 2026
This page is maintained by Anoint to set the rules and expectations for using our Platform. These Terms are app-owned legal content and not a certification or legal opinion from any third-party platform or hosting provider.
Welcome to Anoint ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Anoint web application, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By creating an account, browsing content, or otherwise using Anoint, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Account Creation & Types
A. General Account Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the legal age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account on Anoint. You agree to provide accurate registration information, maintain a valid email address, and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
B. Specialized Account Roles
Anoint supports various account types with distinct permissions:
- Individual Accounts: For viewing media, joining Bible studies, connecting with congregations, and engaging with the Care Portal.
- Church & Non-Profit Accounts: Organizations registering as churches or non-profits represent and warrant that they are authorized representatives of the entity. You are responsible for managing administrators and ensuring content posted under your organization’s profile complies with these Terms.
- Donor Accounts: Users who choose to donate or financially support organizations or Care Portal initiatives through the Platform.
2. User Content & Conduct
A. Content Ownership & License
You retain ownership of all video clips, sermons, text, comments, and other media ("User Content") that you post to Anoint. By uploading User Content, you grant Anoint a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to host, store, stream, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
B. Community Guidelines & Faith-Based Media
Anoint is built to foster respectful, encouraging, and safe faith-based communities. You agree not to upload, post, or share content that:
- Promotes hate speech, harassment, bullying, or violence against any individual or group.
- Is sexually explicit, obscene, or fraudulent.
- Infringes on any third-party intellectual property rights (including copyrighted music or sermon clips without proper authorization).
- Uses the Care Portal to make false or deceptive requests for financial assistance or aid.
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to review, flag, or remove any User Content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.
3. Care Portal, Communities & In-Person Events
A. Care Portal Assistance
Anoint provides the Care Portal feature to help users, community groups, and churches organize assistance for individuals in need.
- Disclaimer of Endorsement: Anoint acts as a communication bridge. We do not independently verify, endorse, or guarantee the truthfulness of help requests, nor do we guarantee that requested assistance will be fulfilled.
- Personal Safety: Users and community groups offering physical aid or home visits do so at their own discretion and risk.
B. In-Person and Online Bible Studies & Groups
Congregations and users may organize local or online events, Bible studies, and gatherings through Anoint.
Assumption of Risk: Anoint is not responsible for the organization, execution, or safety of in-person meetups or local community activities. You assume full responsibility when attending in-person gatherings hosted by third-party churches, organizations, or individual users.
4. Donations & Financial Transactions
- Third-Party Processors: Donations made to churches, non-profits, or community initiatives via Anoint are processed by secure third-party payment gateway providers. Anoint does not store complete payment credentials.
- Tax Deductibility: It is the responsibility of the recipient church or non-profit organization—not Anoint—to issue tax receipts and verify tax-exempt status (e.g., 501(c)(3) status in the United States).
- Refund Policy: All donations made through the Platform are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law or determined otherwise by the recipient organization.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
The Anoint platform name, logo, software code, UI designs, and features (excluding User Content) are the exclusive property of Anoint and its licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of our web or mobile application code without explicit written consent.
6. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers
A. "As-Is" Service
The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
B. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Anoint, its founders, officers, and software providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including loss of data, loss of goodwill, personal injury, or monetary losses—arising out of:
- Your access to or inability to access the Platform.
- Any conduct or content of any third party or organization on the Platform.
- Interactions, assistance provided, or events organized through the Care Portal or local congregations.
7. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the Care Portal, or engage in activity that harms other users or the integrity of the Platform.
